Moderator/Consultant/Instructor
Bob Ringo brings over 40 years of automotive industry experience to NCM, with a career spanning dealership operations, manufacturer leadership, and consulting. His journey began at age 14 in his family’s Heavy Duty Truck Dealership in Northern Kentucky. Although he initially planned to pursue law, his passion for the automobile business led him to Toyota Motor Distributors, where he spent 18 years in various field and management positions with both Toyota and Lexus. His expertise in sales, distribution, and marketing took him across the country, preparing him for a leadership role in retail operations.
As COO of a multi-rooftop dealership group in Northeast Ohio, Bob played a pivotal role in expanding the group from seven rooftops to 21 across seven campuses, representing 32 franchises and 24 unique brands. Under his leadership, the group became a Top 50 Dealer Group in sales. His success led to dealership ownership, where he operated a Honda dealership, transforming it into a market leader in Northeast Ohio.
After selling his dealership interest, Bob worked with a large dealer group to turn around an underperforming operation, which led to consulting engagements with dealer groups nationwide. His expertise in optimizing dealership operations eventually brought him to Honda Motor Sales in Troy, Ohio, where he spent five years consulting and working with Honda dealers throughout the Midwest to improve operations and profitability.
Bob later joined NCM’s Institute as a trainer and consultant, where he played a crucial role in educating dealership personnel on running highly successful operations. Over three years, he was instrumental in shaping the next generation of industry leaders. In 2025, he transitioned into moderating NCM 20 Groups, facilitating high-level strategy discussions among top dealers. Additionally, Bob serves as an Executive Coach, working closely with dealers, general managers, and senior automotive executives to enhance leadership and profitability. He also consults with NCM dealers and dealer groups, identifying new revenue and efficiency opportunities.
Bob’s in-depth knowledge and experience in both OEM and retail operations give him a unique set of qualifications, allowing him to bridge the gap between manufacturers and dealerships. As a result, he works with numerous OEMs in both the U.S. and Canada, helping them develop strategies for improved dealer performance and profitability.
Bob’s love for the automotive business is infectious, and his depth of knowledge makes him an invaluable asset to NCM, OEMs, and dealer groups alike.
