Jay Hopkins is an NCM Moderator responsible for 20 Group meeting facilitation. Jay cherishes the time he spends with dealers and prides himself on exceeding members' expectations by using a consultative approach that proves successful when discussing a myriad of topics that occur at a dealership.
With over 25 years of experience in the automotive industry, Jay has gained valuable insights through managing and owning a Ford dealership located outside the Chicagoland area. His expertise spans every facet of dealership operations, with a career trajectory that led him to the position of Dealer Principal—a role he held for 15 years. Additionally, Jay has a strong background in dealership valuation, gained through his involvement in the brokerage industry. During his tenure at the Ford dealership, Jay consistently surpassed various performance goals, demonstrating resilience and success even in challenging times.
Jay holds a bachelor's degree from Loyola University Chicago. During his tenure as a dealer, he served as a director with the Chicago Automobile Trade Association. That role included Labor Relations, the Chicago Auto Show and navigating many issues affecting dealers in the Chicagoland area.
Outside of work Jay enjoys golfing, brewing beer and most importantly spending time with his wife and 3 children. He is an avid athlete spending time at the gym, golf course and coaching.
